Splitting the Bill

This Sunday’s Sermon, “Splitting the Bill”, references Luke 16: 1-13. This reading, also known as the Parable of the Unjust Steward, teaches that believers should manage their worldly resources with the same shrewdness and wisdom that the unrighteous use them, but for holy purposes. The manager, a dishonest steward, used his master's possessions to make friends who would receive him into their homes after his dismissal, demonstrating a practical way to use resources for future security. Jesus' followers should learn from this example to use their wealth to further God's kingdom and build relationships of charity and solidarity, ensuring their eternal future rather than an earthly one, which is temporary and unreliable.
